TNA Hulk Hogan Marriage a Long Time in Making

Shortly after Hulk Hogan left WWE in 2003, TNA began to try and bring him on board into their wrestling company. Jeff Jarrett launched an on-air attack on Hogan to try and persuade him to come over to TNA and battle for the NWA Heavyweight title. Due to knee and hip problems the TNA Hulk Hogan angle did not go through.

It wasn’t until October 27, 2009 TNA announced that Hulk Hogan did indeed sign a contract with TNA, and would be working on a full time basis with his friend, and wrestling partner Eric Bischoff with Dixie Carter from TNA as a third partner.

The official signing of the contract took place in Madison Square Garden, and the footage was played the following Thursday on Impact where his official role was not brought into play. On January 4th 2010, Hulk Hogan made his official debut under the TNA banner.

On January 17th, TNA Hulk Hogan, and Eric Bischoff debuted all the changes to the set of Impact. The six-sided ring was gone, and replaced by a traditional square ring, and the entrance sections were replaced by a standard raised ramp to the ring.

On March 8th 2010, Hulk Hogan made his official in-ring debut as a wrestler, when he teamed up with Abyss, against the team of A.J. Styles and Ric Flair, and proceeded to win the match. On June 17th 2010, Abyss turned on Hogan and became a heel, and started talking about the mysterious faction ‘they’ that was controlling him and his actions. Hogan, Jeff Jarrett, and Samoa Joe were supposed to work a tag team match against Sting, Nash and D'Angelo Dinero at a pay-per-view, but the match was scrapped due to back surgery that Hulk had to have.

He did make an appearance at the event, where Abyss revealed that the mysterious faction ‘they’ was Abyss, Jeff Hardy, Jeff Jarrett, Eric Bischoff, and TNA Hulk Hogan.
